PRACTICUM REPORT In partial fulfillment Of the requirement in Accounting 330a Presented to: Prof. Teresita Crucero Dean College of Business and Accountancy Central Philippine University Jaro, Iloilo City Presented by: Mary Ann Christi M. It also helps us to obtain applicable knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting. College and Universities require their students to undergo such training within a specific number of hours as part of the curriculum. For us students, a practicum or internship program provides opportunities to go through the actual methodologies of a specific job using the real tools, equipments and documents. In effect the workplace becomes a development venue for us student trainee to learn more about our chosen field and practice what we have learned from the university. On the other hand, a valuable OJT/Practicum program also profits the companies who accept trainees. First trainee provides extra manpower for a significant labor cost than a regular employee. Most of them are eager to learn the ropes so chances are high that they will cooperate. Employers can use this internship strategy as method of recruiting employees. Since the trainer or supervisor can follow the traineesââ¬â¢ progress, he can gauge based on performance, behavior and attitude if the trainee will make good recruit after the completion of his internship. We trainees can bring fresh ideas in the organization. Given the opportunity to converse our minds freely and without fear, we may be able to contribute significantly in the brainstorming or research and eventually help improve the organizations productivity. While training the interns, employers are in fact teaching their employees to guide the trainees by stretching their patience, develop teaching skills and make them more sensitive to the needs and mindset of the younger generation. The course of supervision also teaches them how to share what they know and be receptive to questions. Hence, the internship also becomes an avenue in training for future managers of the company. Accepting on the job trainees can truly be beneficial not only to the trainees but also to the companies that provide opportunities for this type of learning. There is wisdom in the front lines. Such training can be investment that will be valuable to the company later on. This is also why us trainees should take our internship seriously as it can be a powerful tool and possibly even a source of recommendation when they take that big lift from being students to career professionals. Every day, man learns something. It is in his system to learn and discover. Man was born for this. It is an instinct to search for answers in order to satisfy their questions. Save it to their memory and use it in their daily lives. I am on my last semester as a Management Accounting student, I take pride for what I have achieved at this time of my life plus the fact that itââ¬â¢s not easy to maintain a cut-off grade in most of my Accounting subjects in order for me to stay and graduate as a bachelor in Management Accounting. With regards to my off campus practicum, our school sends us to different offices to put our theoretical learning into practical applications. PUDADERA ACCOUNTING OFFICE is located in Arguelles Street, Jaro Iloilo City. It is a ten minute walk from the 6th gate of Central Philippine University. The two-storied building was built in a subdivision with the calm atmosphere of the community and its landscape. The appearance of the building is well harmonized with the surroundings. However, it gives guests the impression of dignity and openness. Directly inside the main entrance, Pudadera Accounting Office has a small but welcoming lobby with a natural concrete floor, stylish but difficult to walk on heels. There are several chairs arranged against the wall and a side table which are placed the companyââ¬â¢s newspapers and other publications. The receptionistââ¬â¢s desk is facing the entrance door, and behind it sits two friendly women. Passing through the receptionistsââ¬â¢ area which is directly leads to the main office. The area is small but it is well arranged to welcome the clients as well as guests. The receiving area has a big square table in the middle with a large window overlooking the exterior. The remainder of the office space is segmented with partitioning walls, forming a sort cubicle. The office starts its operation from 9am to 6pm from Mondays to Friday and 9am to 12nn during Saturdays. The office is closed on Sundays and during Holidays. To grow and create value, the company must have the trust of its clients, lenders and investors. The office assists their clients in the proper applications of accounting principles that will become effective. They also assist in completing certain requirements under existing rules and regulations of regulatory bodies such as the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and others. The office reviews financial information based on agreed-upon procedures, assisting acquirers/investors in determining factors affecting the price and post-acquisition financial issues and providing integrated support throughout the acquisition process. They also provide advice and assistance with the registration and reporting requirements of government agencies relating to tax and/ or investment incentives granted under various investment laws and regulations as administered by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Trade and Industry, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Local Government and etc. It also can provide assistance in determining a companyââ¬â¢s tax liabilities, preparing related returns and remitting these taxes to regulatory agencies within the prescribed deadlines. Some of the clients also ask the office to do the payroll and also provides assistance in Social Security System and Philippine Health Insurance application and payments on their own employees. As I stepped in to the accounting office, the first task I did was to update the books of the firmââ¬â¢s clients. Bookkeeping is the process of recording and classifying business financial transactions, or to put it another way, the process of maintaining the records of a businessââ¬â¢s financial activities. The objective in bookkeeping is to create a useable summary of financial transactions, which provides a snapshot of the businessââ¬â¢s financial stability. The most basic form of accounting is the single-entry system. In this system, you record each transaction only once, as either a deposit or as an expense. This system is generally used to determine the profit/loss of a business. However, the preferred system is the double-entry system. The double-entry system is more accurate, and has built-in checks and balances. In this system, each transaction is recorded twice, in each ââ¬Å"accountâ⬠it affects. This is a more thorough method of keeping a businessââ¬â¢s financial transaction in order. Bookkeeping; As part of the business science of accounting, it represents the daily tasks of tracking its financial transaction of a business and recording it correctly. This includes a sale, purchase of equipment and supplies, investment income for the month, or internal transfer of funds. As a bookkeeper, I have the access to all the daily transaction data for a particular client. Amongst the books that I have updated, the office uses single-entry method of bookkeeping. The approach is very streamlined, tracking only accounts associated directly with money coming in and money being spent by the business which many new businesses and sole proprietors accustomed to. All of this data is then rolled up regularly into a report based on a cash flow structure, showing starting balance, how much new money was earned, how much was spent, and finally a remaining net balance for the period. There are three basic elements of bookkeeping: assets, liabilities, and net assets. Assets are all items used in the operation or investment activities of a business. This category includes all property, or items of value, owned by a business. Examples include cash, buildings, land, vehicles, tools, inventory, office supplies, furniture, investments, and accounts receivable (any funds owed to the business). Increases in assets are called debits. Decreases in assets are called credits. Generally, various assets are referred to as debit accounts. Liabilities are claims by creditors to the assets of a business, or debts owed by the business to others. Types of liabilities include loans, notes payable, and lines of credit. Net assets are the equity earned by the business. Net assets are the value of the business once all liabilities have been paid. It can also be called ownerââ¬â¢s equity, capital, net worth, profit, or proprietorship. There are also several other things to keep in mind when considering a companyââ¬â¢s net assets: â⬠¢ Revenue is the increase in net worth resulting from the operations and other activities of the business. Revenue includes income earned through the businessââ¬â¢s services, interest earned on investments, and contributions from individuals or foundations. Although net assets are considered to be credit accounts, sources of revenue are actually considered to be debit accounts. Expenses are the costs of doing business. This includes the cost of goods, fixed assets, and services/supplies used in the businessââ¬â¢s operations. Examples of expenses include salaries, rent, travel expenses, and the costs of supplies and utilities. Expenses are credit accounts. â⬠¢ Net assets are calculated by subtracting tot al expenses from total revenue, on a yearly basis. Whenever revenue is received, net assets increase. Whenever expenses are paid, net assets decrease. The paper side of bookkeeping is managed through ledgers. Each account has a ledger to show each financial change that has occurred to the account. Sales account shows every sale made in a period by peso amount. It will also show corrections made to the account if there was an error or a bad posting. Eventually, for reporting, all the ledgers used are rolled into one combined report, which then tells management how money was earned and spent for the time period tracked. All business transactions result in at least two changes to the bookkeeping equation. In other words, a transaction that changes a businessââ¬â¢s assets must also change that businessââ¬â¢s liabilities or net assets. Some transactions increase accounts. If a businessââ¬â¢s assets increase, then there must also be an increase in either liabilities or net assets. Other transactions can decrease accounts. If a businessââ¬â¢s assets decrease, so must either its liabilities or its net assets. Bookkeeping goes hand in hand with taxes. Bookkeeping is the process of keeping track of business income and expenses tallying them over time. Taxes are sums that you must pay to government institutions relative to the income and expenses that you tally by means of bookkeeping process. As a practicum, it is our duty to update each of the clientââ¬â¢s books. If we keep the books up to date, it can be relatively simple to file tax returns. Most tax returns involve transferring bookkeeping totals and multiplying them by tax rates. The office maintains a file of receipts for each of the client each month. ANALYSIS Strategizing An up-to-date bookkeeping system enables you to develop strategies to minimize the amount of tax you owe. Income tax rates increase as your income level rises. If you know that you will earn less during an upcoming calendar year, you may choose to make capital expenditures that will lower your tax burden during a year when your overall tax rate will be higher. If your bookkeeping is current and you only need to perform simple calculations to file taxes, you are less likely to accrue penalties and interest on late filings and payments. Running a business means being vigilant about your bookkeeping so that you always know where you stand. If you have a small business, or are in charge of bookkeeping for a business, then you should know some basic accounting and bookkeeping rules to make sure that you're able to run your business smoothly, with no hiccups in the financial department. Choose a System * When starting your bookkeeping, you need to choose a system for doing it. Most businesses choose a cash or accrual system. In a cash system, the bookkeeper records all cash coming in and going out as it is received. For instance, you may make a sale on Friday, but the check doesn't come until Monday, so you record it on Monday. With accrual, you record things when they happen. You would record the sale on Friday and account for the money then, even if you didn't yet receive it. Choosing your system relates mostly to how you do business, if you are vigilant about always having the funds on hand, or if you don't mind doing some of your business on credit. Choose the method that works best for your company. Maintain Your Books * As a bookkeeper or small business owner, you should be updating and maintaining your books daily. It can be easy to put off an entry until tomorrow, but to keep things organized and orderly, you should be entering things in the books as they happen. Resist the urge to leave things until another day. With books, you're dealing with numbers and money, and any small mistake can have big consequences. Make it easier on yourself by maintaining the books daily. Take a few minutes to update and assess, so you are continually in the loop of your financial situation. Leave a Paper Trail * When keeping books, it's important to always do things in order, to number checks and enter them chronologically with all of the information at hand. You should have records of every single financial move you make, through accounting slips, receipts and receiving orders. If, for some reason, you are targeted by the IRS for an audit, they'll want to see clean books with correct records. Leaving a paper trail in everything you do financially with the business is essential to bookkeeping.

Lab Safety Report Essay
The lab safety video has provided valuable information to better prepare me to be safe in lab and go by the Seminole State College Lab protocol. I watched the lab video link-http://flash.seminolestate.edu/vod/chemistry/startingwithsafety/startingwithsafety.html, and learned lab safety. The topics addressed were dressing appropriately, how to handle chemicals safely, Bunsen burner and glassware safety, and the emergency equipment available in the lab. I feel I have been informed of the proper procedures and rules to stay safe and protect my classmates, teacher and my personal safety in the laboratory setting. Before entering a lab one should consider the rules that need to be applied. The attire considered necessary are proper googles, long pants, long sleeves (not too loose), jewelry removed, gloves (if required), and apron (if necessary). Also a student is responsible for their behavior and should store personal items, not fool around, and never bring food and drinks to the lab. Then a lab can be conducted in a safe manner with the additional awareness provided in the following topics. The first topic addressed was how to handle chemicals safely. When using acids or bases in a lab proper eyewear, gloves, and aprons should be worn if necessary. The chemicals should be kept from the eyes and skin, and if happen to get in eyes use an eye wash or shower immediately. When mixing chemicals: read and reread labels, only mix chemicals when told to by teacher and use the proper sized (usually smaller) container. When using acid only add acid to water, not the reverse order. In the case of an accident, report the spill to teacher immediately. Upon lab clean up, throw materials in proper containers and do not pour acids down the sink. The second topic addressed was Bunsen burner and glassware safety. The Bunsen burner is dangerous and therefore precaution needs to be taken. The setup should start with the proper connection of the gas hose, and when ignited stand clear. The burner should be turned off immediately if the flame goes out, sputters or flames happen, or there is a smell of gas. The Bunsen burner can be used with glass beakers for heating chemicals. However,Ã the glassware should be checked for cracks, and once hot should be removed with tongs or gloves. When using fragile glass tubes, hands should be protected with leather gloves and lubrication should be used with rubber inserter and then washed off. If a thermometer is needed the appropriate temperature (alcohol or mercury- depending on temperature range) should be used and understood that no shaking is necessary. The Bunsen burner is among some of the equipment used frequently but can cause harm if used improperly. The final topic addressed the emergency procedures and equipment needed if accidents were to arise in the laboratory. The lab room is equip with first aid kits, fire extinguishers, fire blankets, eye wash stations, emergency chemical showers, and proper deposal containers. However, hopefully one will not need to be used with careful precautions and common sense. For example, if a breaker is on fire simply cover it to contain the flame before a fire extinguisher or evacuation is needed. The emergency equipment is there to ensure safety in case of an accident or emergency and should be used appropriately. In conclusion, the laboratory is a dangerous place if the proper concern for safety is not taken seriously. Therefore the video has given the proper guidelines and protocols needs to operate a safe lab for all to enjoy.

Epidemiology And Public Health Significance - 2485 Words
Kyle Andrade Dr. Perrino June 23, 2015 The Obesity Epidemic 1. Epidemiology and Public Health Significance Obesity is a significant public health problem that has serious worldwide implications for health and disease. The sheer quantity of obese people in the world and specifically America, is testament to the need for this grave public health concern to be curbed. Obesity is classified as individuals with a body mass index (BMI) of 30.0 and above. Since 1980 worldwide obesity has nearly doubled.7 In 2014, approximately over 600 million adults worldwide were obese.7 Of this number 39% of adults aged 18 years and over were overweight (BMI of 25-29.9) in 2014, and 13% were obese.7 Most of the world s population live in countries whereâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The relationship between obesity and socioeconomic status differs by sex, race and ethnic group. Obesity is also linked to several digestive diseases.5 Due to the increased risk of death and the increased risk of costly chronic diseases associated with obesity, the

The Color Purple Literary Analaysis - 1001 Words
A man shall not be judged by the color of their skin by the content of their character, Martin Luther King Jr once said. But does this logic always apply in the real world? In many societies, there seems to be a shift of roles based not fully on character and quality but on gender, race and class. The community tends to assign positions, drawing itself onto the denial of roles to the odds. Alice Walker, in her book The Color Purple brings the readers to the realization of this fact of life, as she describes the life and emotions of a typical black woman, in such a society, seeking happiness and achievement. Racism and discrimination may be long gone but their principles have a lasting effect on the society. Walkerâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Her life never showed her any reason why she should be worth what she was actually worth. Celie had never experienced true love even from her mother or her father but only from her dearest sister. As she goes through her usual sufferings of lif e, she comes across some people who begin to understand her feelings. Shug Avery and other women of love, try to show her the real world and how much the society had blinded her. Celies realization that women do need a little fun, once in a while, leads to her denial and refutation of the roles that the society places on gender, race and class. She begins to model her life to her dreams, and no longer to the way the society expects it. She follows her passion and helps others to come out the same way. Alice Walker convinces the readers that life is not about pleasing the society and those in authority, but about pleasing oneself. This principle followed in her book, eventually leads Celie to a sense of self-accomplishment and happiness. Through her understanding that if yellow is a name, black is the same, Celie finally feels just like every other person- free to satisfy herself, being restrained no more by anybody else. She stood firm, with her God for help, in the paths she believ ed was right. In the Color Purple, Alice Walker describes the life of a typical black woman as she struggles in the society that clearly expresses their hatred for such race and gender. Societies seem to favor the better race

The Betrayal and Loyalty in Macbeth and Kite Runner
ââ¬Å"A boy who wonââ¬â¢t stand up for himself becomes a man who canââ¬â¢t stand up to anything.â⬠Baba says these words to Rahim Khan while he is talking about Amir at the end of Chapter 3, and the quotation reveals important traits in both Amir and Baba. With these words, Baba sums up one of Amirââ¬â¢s major character flawsââ¬âhis cowardiceââ¬âand Baba shows how much value he places in standing up for what is right. Baba is reluctant to praise Amir, largely because he feels Amir lacks the courage to even stand up for himself, leaving Amir constantly craving Babaââ¬â¢s approval. Amirââ¬â¢s desire for this approval as well as his cowardice later cause him to let Assef rape Hassan. Criminal Interview Techniques free essay sample
In the current times of criminal investigation, the interview is very important in making or breaking the case at hand. Many of the processes that police or criminal investigators use today tend to relate to a psychological tactic that breaks down their suspects. However, how far can the police or an investigator go before it is too much on the suspect? The whole purpose of an interview is to gather information about a crime and attempt to make sense of the crime. Nonetheless, investigation will continue until there is enough information or possibly a confession surfaces. Gudjonsson and Pearse relate to two different types of interrogation that have been identified throughout the years in the United States and the United Kingdom- the Reid Technique (United States) and the PEACE model (United Kingdom). Both are used to psychologically understand the suspectââ¬â¢s story of the crime and to purposely attain any important information possible. We will write a custom essay sample on Criminal Interview Techniques or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page However, the Reid technique is more aggressive than the PEACE model. The purpose of the article was to express the concern that the authors have for the techniques of these models, especially the Reid technique, which they find very aggressive and inhumane. In the end, there will be an explanation of why these techniques work but furthermore, which one should be used and which one should not even be considered. Throughout the article, the authors express the strengths and weaknesses of both techniques to the extent that the reader can understand the usefulness of both. What needs to be understood is that both of these techniques have been used by investigative professionals and that they understand the dangers that come with the criminal investigative process. On the other hand, it is their job, and they have a crime to solve every time they use one of these investigative tactics. Therefore, that is why the authors of this article explain in depth both techniques and how they are used to solve even the most serious crimes. When the thought comes to mind, anyone ould think that criminal investigation would be like what is seen on television or the movies. Although this depiction is somewhat accurate, how aggressive is it compared to the models described by the authors? The most troublesome technique of the two is the Reid technique which is mostly incorporated in the United States. According to the authors, this technique is used to find a confession in the investigation rather than find truth or fact about possible leads into solving the crime. In order to attain a false confession, the interrogators continuously physically and mentally attack the suspect in order to manipulate their memory and judgment of the crime about what happened. They will go so far as to deprive the suspect of water and food in order to get them to come clean about something they never did or give some kind of information that will make the investigators believe they have the crime solved. It is sad to relate that these false confession accounts are a reality in any criminal investigation; in fact, most false accusations and confessions are the reason why some crimes may go unsolved. The authors did not condone this technique and believed it to be far out of the appropriate level for treating a suspect and even ââ¬Å"cruel and unusual punishmentâ⬠in the way that it is harmful to a suspectââ¬â¢s both mental and physical health. Gudjonsson and Pearse describe the process of the technique with a two-stage process in which there is a nonaccusatory stage where information is gathered about the suspect and then there is the accusation stage where the physical and mental tactics of torture are used in order to get the suspect to falsely confess the crime. What is amazing about this technique is that it works and many people have witnessed it. It is an astounding 80% confession rate when people are put through this technique and a 20% chance of the suspects standing their ground (Gudjonsson Pearse). As the Reid technique continues to be executed in the United States, the United Kingdom has adopted the PEACE model which started in the UK and has remained there for a reasonable time. This model is used to make reason with the suspects. It is a psychological maneuver that is used in order to make the suspects feel at ease all the while keeping them on their heels in case the investigators catch them off guard with a lie or evidence not yet discussed. PEACE stands for preparation and planning, engage and explain, account, closure, and evaluation (Gudjonsson Pearse). This model does not easily have a turnover of confessions, but it does the job still. However, many UK investigators have learned that they need to use a little of the Reid technique in order to get the suspects rattled. Having this power over the suspects makes their judgment much better and may make their memory more clear. The PEACE model works for the suspects to understand that the investigator knows a lot of information about the crime but that they need the suspect to cooperate ââ¬Å"peacefullyâ⬠in order to make sense of the crime and gather the correct information. The authors seem to believe, and I agree, this to be a more reasonable way of interrogation and believe it to be a better solution than the inhumane tactics of the Reid technique. Overall, these techniques are very valuable to the execution of solving crimes in the United States or the United Kingdom. Although both of the models are very useful and make crime-solving easier, it is best to understand the effects that both of these techniques have on criminals. The authors would like for anyone to believe that the peace model is the best model and sincerely believe that the Reid model needs to be revised or completely outlawed.

Amba week Essay Example Essay Example
Amba week Essay Example Paper Amba week Essay Introduction Carryââ¬â¢s case further details how this organization relied upon feedback from its employees, through surveys and interviews, to develop the new policy change. Since the amendment was imposed job performance and organizational commitment is said to have increased, especially for those employees whom were not regularly taking lunch breaks. This scenario brings to light the specific question of motivation in the work force, and how a company, such as the one mentioned above, can find new ways to motivate their workforce and create increased performance and job commitment. The following report will analyze the impact this specific policy change can have on the overall work environment in the areas of motivation, performance, and com tenement. Scholarly Framework As David Wild (2011) explains in his research brief on the correlation between salary and work place happiness, it is all but a myth that employee satisfaction goes hand in hand with financial compensation. Although individual studies aim to prove that this is true, researchers have done their due diligence in thoroughly assessing the results from 86 previous studies on the subject. They have discovered that although pay may be a motivator for some employees, larger wages do not directly correlate to a satisfied employee base. These researchers went on to compare an increase in wages to that of the short-lived joy of newlyweds, meaning that job satisfaction would only be temporary. These research findings are not an entirely new way of thinking and as Dan Pink explains in his presentation, The Puzzle of Motivation, ââ¬Å"there is a mismatch between what science knows and what business doesâ⬠(2009). Amba week Essay Body Paragraphs We will write a custom essay sample on Amba week Essay Example specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now We will write a custom essay sample on Amba week Essay Example specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer We will write a custom essay sample on Amba week Essay Example specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer This essentially means that most 21st century genuineness are choosing to ignore the fact that the science of organizational behavior pertaining to motivation is not linked to reward and punishment, or extrinsic motivation, but rather intrinsic. Carols employer is implementing these concepts of intrinsic motivation to better the work environment, but is it really making a difference for employees? Analyze the case chosen Although the policy change is strictly optional, research has shown that breaks taken at work can be beneficial to reducing stress levels for employee (Frizz, Ellis, Demise, Line Gurus, 2013). The key argument presented in ending is that work breaks have measurable effects on employee well-being and performance. However, this research places a great deal of focus on the activities that employees partake in during their work breaks. Meaning if an individual uses this break time to read a book or enjoy a meal, as long as these activities are viewed as relaxing by the partaker, then they will demonstrate increased energy during the work day. This increased energy would then, presumably, correlate to a more productive employee. On the reverse side of the spectrum, if an individual uses their thirty minute break erred to perform a task they find stressful then they would return to their work duties feeling fatigued, and therefore become less productive as the dad goes on. Although the latter is of concern to employers finding ways to help employees actively seek out less stressful actives during the work day would be beneficial to both parties. This is because the more stress an employee experiences on a routine basis, the greater risk they are to become fatigued, experience memory loss and develop coronary heart disease, consequently lowering employee productivity (Colloquial, Lupine, Wesson, 2013). It is important for organizations to realize that when trying to provide a better work place and environment for employees there can always be multiple layers to the issue. Perhaps the focus Of this case study should also be spent on finding ways to reduce the levels of stress workers experience and help them to cope with stresses they cannot eliminate. In order to successfully carry out such a task, managers would have to work with employees to create a list of work hindrance and work challenge stresses that can be addressed. It is possible that management has not been made ware of such issues and if they are able to address these concerns going forward then employees would benefit greatly, particularly if these issues are easy to overcome. This type of analysis would be best conducted on a case by case basis due to the fact that stress is different for everyone. The notion that every individual is unique is not a new concept, yet it is one that should be embraced. The employer being discussed in this case is clear aware of this fact because of their demonstration of flexibility in the meal policy change. Nevertheless, the evidence presented in the analysis portion f this case illustrates that employee breaks are overall constructive to employee motivation and if paired with stress reducing activities, can increase employee productivity and organizational commitment. Recommendations In order to provide employees with an adequate amount of personal time t relax, reflex and re-energize, it is recommended that employees be obligated to take their two 15 minute paid breaks on a daily basis. Management should( implement this policy by making sure that individuals document this time away from work activities through some sort of time clock process. This commendation comes in light of the fact that if it was a common occurrence for employees to skip taking lunch breaks previously, then they are most likely not taking their 15 minutes breaks as well. Employees and managers need to be educated on the benefits associated with embracing these work breaks, as they are meant to help, not hinder, work performance. By taking these few minutes for oneââ¬â¢s self the employee will be able to c ome back to the their workstation with a fresh look and positive attitude towards their work. The second recommendation to be discussed is that the organization would offer activities for workers to take part in during their 15 minute breaks. These activities would be geared towards stress relief and could include tasks such as meditation, cardiac, and brain teasers. Those employees interested in partaking in such events on a group level would also be able to do so during a thirty minute meal break if they chose to have one, as these will still be optional. It is recommended that managers reach out to employees for feedback on activities they believe would help to reduce stress. This exercise can also open the lines of communication as to where employees are experiencing stress in their role within the organization. It would be extremely beneficial for management to document such discussions and find ways to assist in eliminating or lessening these stresses. If such a discussion is unable to flow freely, than it is recommend that an anonymous Survey be conducted pertaining to employees and the work hindrance and challenge stresses they are facing. It is all but guaranteed that such issues are prevalent in this case due to the information that has been presented in Carols case scenario. These employees would not be irking overtime on their lunch breaks and then develop ââ¬Å"a new desire to remain a member of the agencyââ¬â¢ if they were not experiencing some short of stress pertaining to their work (Case Scenario). Therefore, it is crucial that this employer gets to the bottom of the issue or at the very least develops a time management system for employees. It is important that this section of the consulting report end with a discussion on the policy change that originated the overall analysis. Even though research suggests that meal periods are important for employee attestation, the consulting party believes that the employeeââ¬â¢s ability to make th ese decisions for themselves outweighs the research provided. Ultimately giving employees the freedom to make their own choice on this topic is believed to generate more satisfaction then going back and re-mandating the procedure. It is also important to note that because employees will now be required to take their 15 minute breaks, they will still be able to receive the benefits discussed formerly in the text. Expected outcomes By following the recommendations outlined in this consulting report the aforementioned organization should notice an overall decrease in employee stress and increase in motivation. Employees will learn to balance their work related duties and their inner need to nurture their minds on a personal level. The interventions recommend are designed to make work a more enjoyable place for employees, this will intern promote a higher level Of performance and increased commitment to the workplace. Employees must feel valued in order to grow their skills and breed cr eativity (Colloquial et al, 2013). Failure to motivate employees will be difficult, because of the fact that these commendations rely heavily on impacting employee stress and overall job satisfaction in a positive way. By taking an ââ¬Å"inside outâ⬠approach to the issues presented by this company and its employees, one is able to see that both parties needs will be meant. The initial focus should be on eliminating stress factors for employees, and by developing creative ways to do so the organization will have conquered half the battle. Thus creating a snowball effect that can increase job satisfaction and motivate employees to work harder and develop their skillet. The important focus of this report is that unlocking the key to employee stress is paramount to increasing performance and commitment. The face that this organization is taking such steps to positively affect their employees demonstrates the emotional attachment workers may strengthen or develop towards the organ ization. Not to mention the fact that the group activities that will be implemented aim to increase overall moral and develop stronger coworker bounds. These relationships will help to increase organizational commitment as well. By now it should be clear that these aspects of an individualââ¬â¢s behavior: motivation, tress, job satisfaction, performance, and commitment are intertwined and help to advance one another. But the weak link that must be continually evaluated is employee stress. Now of course there are always exceptions to the rule, the 10 presenters. These individuals will make implementation of even the most rewarding task difficult, but it is important for managers to focus their attention on developing procedures that will work best for the majority of workers. Knowing that they will not be able to please every employee can be difficult for managers to fathom.
